Our February Car of the Month – The 2025 Honda HR-V –  isn’t just another stylish compact SUV; it’s a showcase of Honda’s commitment to safety and cutting-edge technology.  Every HR-V model comes equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of active safety and driver-assist technologies, setting a new standard in its class. This system offers a range of features designed to enhance driver awareness while also reducing the risk of potential hazards.

A key component of Honda Sensing is the Collision Mitigation Braking System, which includes forward-collision warning. Using a single-camera system with a 100-degree field of view, the CMBS system can identify pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles with improved speed and accuracy. This system can also automatically apply the brakes to help avoid or lessen the severity of a collision. Complementing CMBS is the Road Departure Mitigation system, which helps keep the HR-V on the road by providing steering assistance and braking if the SUV unintentionally drifts from its lane.

Honda Sensing also includes Traffic Jam Assist, a valuable feature that refines the standard adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist systems you’d find with the competition. This technology creates a more natural driving experience, especially in stop-and-go traffic.  For added peace of mind, the Sport and EX-L trims offer blind-spot warning, further enhancing driver awareness.

Beyond safety, the HR-V also comes with an improved infotainment system designed for seamless connectivity and user-friendly operation. The LX and Sport models feature a 7-inch touchscreen with intuitive controls, including physical knobs for power/volume and tuning/selection.  A dedicated row of buttons simplifies navigating the audio menu, and media sources like phone, radio, Bluetooth, and USB. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across all trims, ensuring effortless smartphone integration.  The EX-L trim elevates the experience with a larger 9-inch touchscreen, complete with a volume knob and large, easily navigable icons.

Further adding to the technological appeal of the HR-V are features like Bluetooth Streaming Audio, Speed-Sensitive Volume Compensation, a 2.5-Amp USB Smartphone/Audio Interface, and a 180-watt Audio System with 6 Speakers.  Convenience comes first with a Wireless Phone Charger, HD Radio, SiriusXM compatibility, a Push Button Start system, Cruise Control, and Illuminated Steering Wheel-Mounted Controls.

Overall, it is safe to say that our February Car of the Month – The Honda HR-V – seamlessly blends advanced safety features with intuitive technology, creating a confident and connected driving experience that is sure to be appreciated by Ghanaians around the nation.
