From first-lap shenanigans to multiple punctures to Saubar finally scoring their first points all season and penalities being handed left and right, the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix had it all. Many were expecting the penultimate race of the 2024 season to be a snoozefest, however, it was anything but! Keep reading if you want to find out everything that went down this Sunday around the Lusail International Circuit.

We had some drama on our hands even before the five red lights went out, as yesterday’s pole sitter and current World Champion Max Verstappen was demoted to P2 after being given a penalty, handing pole position to George Russel. But, this only seemed to ignite the Dutchman’s flame more, as he retook the lead into the first corner, leaving the Mercedes eating dust.

There was drama at the back of the pack though, as both Ocon and Colapinto were wiped out following a collision with the Haas of Nico Hulkenberg. Lance Stroll got handed a penalty for colliding with Alex Albon, and Lewis Hamilton was penalized for a false start, with a puncture, and another drive-through penalty for speeding in the pitlane adding to his misery later on. Lando Norris also got handed a stop-and-go penalty for failing to slow under yellow flags, which dropped him from a sure-fire podium to the tail end of the points. Perez and Hulkenberg spun out of the race following the restart to clear the debris, and overall, it is safe to say that this was one of the most incident-filled races of the season with not one, not two but three safety cars being deployed.

The fight for the Driver’s title might be done and dusted, but the battle for the Constructor’s trophy remains. Oh, and with Charles Leclerc just 8 points behind Lando Norris heading into the final round, we have a battle for P2 in the standings as well. Join Supercars.com.GH next weekend if you want to stay on top of everything that happens in the final round, which is shaping up to be one of the most exciting ends for an F1 season in recent memory.
