F1 is back! Is the Red Bull Dominance Over?

The summer break is over, and the world’s most sophisticated sport is back on the telly! As the Formula 1 circus gets ready to get back on the road, join Supercars.GH as we look to give a definitive answer to the question ’Is the Red Bull dominance over?’
To say that Red Bull has fallen from grace would be a massive understatement. The Milton Keynes-based outfit won all but one race in 2023 and was riding a wave of success this time last year. Fast forward twelve months later, its star designer has announced he is leaving the team, and they have been unable to reach the top step of the podium since the Spanish Grand Prix back in June!
Add both McLaren and Mercedes riding a wave of success sharing the two victories each already and 10 rounds of the season yet to go, and the chances of Red Bull securing another back-to-back World Constructor’s Championship are starting to look increasingly thin. The two McLaren drivers – Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri – both of whom became first-time race winners this season are simply on form, have managed to outperform Red Bull’s Golden Boy Max Verstappen in the past few races, which has thrown the 3-time World Champion’s commitment to the team into question. Oh, and don’t get us started on Sergio Perez, who has constantly been outclassed by the rest of the field in inferior machinery, and has caused the team some serious headaches when it comes to that second seat – which many F1 fans now unanimously agree is cursed beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Throw the Christian Horner allegations and the RB20 having just been found out to have an illegal component in its breaks, it is safe to say that the once great establishment is now in some serious jeopardy. But, will they bounce back through the rest of the season to clinch yet another World Driver’s Championship and World Constructor’s Championship duo? Or, has the Red Bull dominance as we knew it from the dawn of this new ground effects era come to an end? Stay tuned to the Supercars.GH Formula 1 coverage through the rest of the 2024 Season to find out for yourself!
