The 2022 August BMW Club meeting played host to some eye-catching Bimmers. Want to know which cool Bimmers were at the Meet? We know your answer is a resounding “Yes!”, so follow along.
Wait a minute. Are you confused about what an Alpina is? You see, Alpina is to BMW what RUF is to Porsche. They take a regular BMW chassis and make it more powerful and luxurious under their brand.
Attending the August BMW club meeting was a beautiful Alpina B7, which itself is based on the flagship BMW 7 Series luxury sedan. This sedan comes with a 608 horsepower, 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which launches it to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Flat out, the B7 will reach a V-Max of 205 mph, and the monstrous 800 Nm of torque also aids the B7 to achieve these impressive figures. The B7 is also beautified with some distinctly Alpina features, with the turbine wheels being a great example.
Speaking of 7’s, people who attended the club meet also got to spot an X7 M50, which is BMW’s biggest, badest, and most luxurious SUV.
With 3-row seating, it is the most practical BMW SUV on sale. This was also the first model to debut the controversially large BMW grille. Under the hood of the current most powerful X7 lies the same 4.4-liter V8 as in the Alpina. However, here it makes 523 horsepower and 553 Nm of torque, giving the X7 a 0-60 time below 5 seconds.
The X5 is one of the most popular SUVs in the world, and it is for good reason. It brings the perfect mix of off-road capability and on-road performance.
Several engine options are available with the X5, including the familiar 4.4-liter V8. When equipped with this 500+ horsepower engine, the X5 can bolt to 60 in just 4.1 seconds. You can also get a high-performance version called the X5 M, which reaches 60 in just 3.8 seconds
The BMW M5 is the de-facto sports sedan, and it is a privilege to have one of these monsters roaming our Ghanaian streets. The M5 has a history that runs back decades, and the current generation is the most powerful of them all.
From the factory, the muscular M5 comes with a mighty V8 engine that puts out 600 bhp and 553 Nm of torque. Since this M5 is heavily modified, the 0-60 time stands at a supercar beating 2.6 seconds.
The final car we are going to talk about is one of the oldest cars that attended the event as well. The iconic E30 generation of the BMW 3 Series launched in 1982 and was the basis for what would become the legendary M3. The first ever M3 had 215 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque.
