Compact cars have seen a resurgence in Ghana during the past few years. They are more affordable, and when mixed with the practicality they offer, it is clear to see why many buyers prefer these cars over much larger sedans.
When talking about compact cars, there is one car that is hard to ignore. We are of course talking about the Suzuki Baleno. The Baleno targets the upper end of the market, for whom the already popular Suzuki Swift is not fancy enough. And it is safe to say that this tactic has worked, as the Baleno has been a best seller on the market since its introduction. For 2022, this popular compact has received a redesign, and we invite you to join us as we take a first look at this exciting new vehicle.
Suzuki has given some significant updates to the front of the Baleno. Now, the facia has a more aggressive and wider look. The bonnet has been made sleeker, and the signature chrome detailing of the Baleno has received some minor changes.
New headlamps with a trio of LED DRLs help to distinguish the new Baleno from the outgoing model. Other notable changes to the front facia include a sportier front grille and wider air dams on the front fenders. The designers of the Baleno have not discarded the rear of the vehicle either. New split-design taillamps with a 3D design, as well as a new chrome design element that runs from one taillight to the other are the two most obvious changes. But if you look close enough, you’ll spot the new 360-degree surround view camera at the center of the tailgate too. A set of all-new 16-inch alloy wheels complete the exterior look of the eye-catching 2022 Suzuki Baleno.
Next, we’ll tell you all about its updated interior.
The Baleno already had a plush interior when it originally came out. For 2022, Suzuki has taken it one step further. Up front, there is a sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel like the ones you find in powerful sports cars.
Other notable features include a head-up display that gives all necessary information to the driver at a glance and a touchscreen-equipped infotainment screen. Five passengers can comfortably sit in the Baleno, and we are sure that all of them will enjoy the classy and comfortable interior of the 2022 model.
Under the hood, the Baleno has the familiar K12 gasoline powerplant. However, Suzuki has updated the engine in some areas to improve both performance and efficiency. Out of all powertrain components, the gearbox has received a notable upgrade. The all-new Balneo comes with a new AGS gearbox in place of the CVT that was in the older model.
When compared to the existing model, the 2022 Balneo has improved in almost every aspect. For a more in-depth review and a video walkaround of this vehicle, head over to our website and social media pages.
