In 2003, Toyota deployed its <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2003\/TECH\/ptech\/09\/01\/toyota.prius.reut\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Intelligent Parking Assistant<\/a><\/strong> on Prius hybrids allowing it to perform automatic parallel parking. It was the first park assist technology in commercial use.<\/p>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>HOW DOES PARK ASSIST TECHNOLOGY MAKE DRIVING EASIER<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Park assist technology<\/strong> uses sensors and cameras to detect obstacles and spaces around the car. When the sensors detect a suitable spot, the driver receives confirmation to initiate parking.<\/p>\n<p>Over the decades, park assist technologies have developed to offer a spectrum of parking aids.
