After two long, winless seasons that must have felt like an eternity to his millions of die-hard fans, 7-time World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton finally stepped onto the top step of the podium at the 2024 British Grand Prix, which, as fate would have it, would be his final home race with the Mercedes team.
Fast forward two race weekends and the Britan would find himself holding the winners’ trophy again at the Belgian Grand Prix after his teammate George Russel was disqualified from P1 due to a weight issue. This run of form has unmistakably lit a fire under the most successful driver in F1 history, and as the second half of the season is about to kick off, we are here to answer the question “What are the odds that Lewis Hamilton wins again in 2024?”
No one can deny that Mercedes AMG is having its best season in this new ground effect era, and the Brackley-based team currently ranks 4th in the standings behind Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull with 266 points, while Hamilton sits 6th in the standings ahead of his teammate going into the Dutch Grand Prix weekend. With the W15 looking stronger than it ever has and Mercedes undoubtedly cooking up some upgrades over the summer break, we wouldn’t count out on seeing Hamilton take home a massive chunk of points this weekend. After all, he was P6 around the Zandvoort circuit last year round with a far inferior car, so the only way is up, right?
Looking past the Dutch Grand Prix, there are several other races where we feel Hamilton has a high chance of scoring his 106th race victory. We all know Hamilton’s heroics around Singapore, but if we had to bet on it, we’d say the Brazillian Grand Prix in November would have the best odds of seeing Hamilton on the top step of the podium once again. We all know how much he loves his circuit, and who can remember his heroic charge to victory from the back of the pack in 2021?
If Hamilton continues to keep up this consistency until the end of the season, we won’t be surprised to see his name among the top 3 drivers in the Championship standings at the end of the season. Will this lash hurrah of the Hamilton and Mercedes combo be a season to remember ahead of his move to Mercedes? Stay tuned to our coverage of the rest of the 2024 F1 season and find out for yourself!
