Supercars have greatly improved through the years. Today they are far from the rowdy, rigid, and simply wild and risky beasts that they once were and are more fashioned for approachability, ease, and comfort.Â
The Lamborghini Huracan and the Audi R8 V10 plus are both giants in their rights. They are both incredibly exhilarating to drive and pack enough speed and power to be highly respected. We are putting these two unstoppable machines head to head to see which one wins. We will determine this based on; Powertrain, Performance, and Handling.
Audi R8 V10 Plus is Made from a lightweight aluminum alloy, where the V10 Plus engine lets you enjoy smooth access to 610 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. The Huracan also has a V10 engine since they are both owned by Volkswagen. However, the Lamborghini Huracan model possesses an LDF gearbox with dual clutches and seven fixed speeds. For powertrain superiority, the Huracan with its automatic seven gear shifts wins.
Performance
Audi R8 V10 Plus monstrous machine packs a serious punch in terms of performance, boasting a zero to sixty miles per hour acceleration in only three seconds. You can also reach a top speed of 200 MPH. Whereas, in a Lamborghini, the sport-inspired beast can also travel from zero to sixty miles per hour in just 3 seconds.
In addition, it can reach a top speed of 202 MPH, which translates to a jaw-dropping take. Since both engines accelerate at the same time, they are both tied on their performance record.
The handling of the Audi R8 V10 Plus is a joy to experience. It has a Quattro all-wheel drive(AWD), which is tuned for sporty performance and provides an excellent road grip. In addition, it has sturdy brakes, which provide adequate stopping power, and a sport-tuned suspension with different driving modes. Regardless of the setup, it offers accurate steering and superb agility.
Also, the Lamborghini Huracan comes with an electronically controlled AWD and Haldex Generation V technology, the same as Audi R8. It has an exotic suspension system that comes with three driving modes. It also has extra support, provided by an electronically controlled magnetic fluid. However, the Audi R8 dynamic manual six gears and four-wheel drive win.
In terms of digital technology, a state-of-the-art digital 12.3-inch instrument display linked to a GPS navigation system that relays three-dimensional maps from Google Earth is installed in the Audi R8.Â
In addition, the embedded information system, which runs on the MMI interface, offers a technology that recognizes handwriting and not only regular taps and swipes of a touch screen.Â
You can see the car’s performance in real-time and feel the boost, power and torque by turning on the sports mode. Finally, you can connect your smartphones through Bluetooth and gadgets to a secure Wi-Fi network and turn on the 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system to listen to your music as you drive.
Also, the Lambo has a traffic Information navigation system that provides real-time travel, destination updates, and routes. It has a connected telemetry feature that helps keep track of your race track lap times. In addition, it has other cool features such as a car finder and vehicle status report.
You can use the Geofencing, curfew, and valet alert to monitor your car . Suppose you’re a music lover, you get to enjoy both phone and audio streaming, AM/FM radio, USB/AUX connectivity, and a voice command feature.
In conclusion, you may have noticed that the Lamborghini Huracan and the Audi R8 V10 Plus share the same powertrain, a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that pumps out a massive 610 horsepower. The major difference, however, lies in their top speed. Huracan comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and can go from 0 to 60MPH in 3.0 seconds. But for handling, the Lamborghini Huracan is infused with an electronically controlled AWD, which isn’t as dynamic as the Quattro AWD on the Audi R8.
When choosing the right supercar at this level, the decision most often boils down to preference, especially when the cars in question have similar abilities.. However, I prefer the Audi R8, it’s made for everyday use, does not attract lots of attention, and has a moderate price range.
In the showdown between the Lamborghini Huracan and the Audi R8 V10 Plus, you can see that both cars are powerful, have luxury, and a beast on the road, everything you would expect from supercars.
