Are there any F1 tracks in Ghana?
In Continental Africa, only South Africa has expressed an interest in F1 track racing. The main reason why the rest of Africa has never hosted a GP and why no African races have appeared on the F1 calendar since the 1990s is that the continent as a whole has a poor economy and thus lacks the financial resources to host an F1 race. DHL and Formula 1 have agreed to a 5-year partnership. The South African Grand Prix will return to F1 in 2023. Since 2021, the sport has collaborated closely with South Africa. F1 is truly a global sport, with fans in nearly every country.
Are there any Ghanaian F1 teams?
Despite several names scattering everywhere, no African F1 drive has made it to the limelight of intercontinental F1 races. A notable Ghanaian is teenage sensation Lewis Appiagyei, an 18-year-old born to a German mother and a Ghanaian father.

He holds an eight-year Guinness World Record of climbing to the top of virtual racing by driving the fastest lap on the Laguna Seca Circuit. In the real world, he has won the Junior Karting Trophy at the Buckmore Park Kart Circuit; I think this is the closest a Ghanaian has reached.Â
Virtual racing is very prominent in F1 these days, sometimes leading into the actual sport. The Buckmore Park Kart Circuit has produced great champions such as Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button, showing that the teenager is on the right track to represent Ghana in future F1 races.
